--State Senator Adam Schiff California's 21st Senate Distict

Falls Church, VA: Democratic Congressional candidate Adam Schiff has actively worked for the passage of the Armenian Genocide Resolution (H.Res.398), demonstrating the same brand of principled and determined leadership that has generated broad-based support among Armenian American voters for his U.S. House candidacy.

State Senator Schiff, who is running for the House in California's 27th Congressional District, has worked closely with the Democratic leadership to support the passage of H.Res.398. Democratic Leader Gephardt and Democratic Whip David Bonior have both written to Speaker Dennis Hastert to urge him to schedule the Armenian Genocide Resolution for immediate floor consideration. The Ranking Democrat on the House International Relations Committee Sam Gejdenson (D-CT) and Armenian Caucus Co-Chairman Frank Pallone have also written to the Speaker, noting his "recent new-found interest" in this legislation and pointing out that, "this issue requires little if any additional deliberation by the House of Representatives."
