SHELLEY BERKLEY WINS AADLC ENDORSEMENT
Representative of Nevada's 1st District has been a Consistent Supporter of Issues Important to Armenian-Americans

Falls Church, VA: The Armenian American Democratic Leadership Council (AADLC) today announced its endorsement for Congresswoman Shelly Berkley, who is currently seeking to be re-elected to a second term representing Nevada's 1st Congressional District. Since her election to the U.S. House in November of 1997, Berkley has been an ardent supporter of issues important to her Armenian-American constituents who live in a Congressional District that stretches across Las Vegas and southern Nevada.
In addition to being home to a growing and prosperous population of Armenian-Americans, including noted financeer Kirk Kerkorian, Nevada's 1st District will be home to a large Armenian Community Center that will be opened in October of this year.
"Shelly Berkley has been a good friend to Armenian American voters in Nevada's 1st District," said AADLC Outreach Coordinator, Raffi Asatoorian. "A vote for Shelly Berkley on November 7th is a vote for stronger U.S. ties with Armenia and a vote for somebody committed to securing justice for the martyrs and victims of the Armenian Genocide," he added.
"I am confident that a great many Armenian-Americans look forward to voting for Rep. Berkley," said the AADLC's Asatoorian. "Rep. Berkley is a dedicated friend of Armenia, Nagorno-Karabagh, and she is also committed to affirming the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide," he added.
In the 106th Congress, Congresswoman Berkley has been a prominent supporter of H.Res. 398, the Armenian Genocide Resolution Congresswoman Berkley is a member of the Congressional Armenian Caucus and has consistently supported the concerns of his Armenian American constituents and worked to increase aid to Armenia and Nagorno-Karabagh..
The AADLC works with the Democratic National Committee to foster support within the Armenian American community for the Democratic Party and national Democratic office holders, while promoting the election of Armenian American Democrats to political office and encouraging participation by Armenian American Democrats at all levels of the public policy process.
