AADLC CONDEMNS ARSON ATTACKS ON SACRAMENTO SYNAGOGUES
|
"These cowardly acts of violence represent a threat to the rights of Jews and all Americans to practice their faith, free from intimidation and terror."
--AADLC Co-Chair Richelle Noroyan
LOS ANGELES, CA:The Armenian American Democratic Leadership Council (AADLC) today condemned a recent series of arson attacks against synagogues in Sacramento, California.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, National Co-Chair Richelle Noroyan, who serves on the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party, made the following statement:
"The Armenian American Democratic Leadership Council shares the sadness and outrage of all people of good conscience at the series of arson attacks directed against three synagogues in Sacramento, California.
These cowardly acts of violence represent a threat to the rights of Jews and all Americans to practice their faith, free from intimidation and terror. The Armenian people, as victims of genocide and intolerance, join with the Jewish community in condemning this brutality and in calling upon the authorities to dedicate any and all resources required to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the Jewish community of Sacramento as they repair the damage wrought by these terrible assaults upon their places of worship."
The attacks, which caused more than a million dollars in combined damage, are being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
